Rivers of Light, a nighttime show at Disney's Animal Kingdom, debuted in February 2017. The show combines light, music and water to celebrate the natural world around us, and our connection to it. For the debut, I organized a local media night, inviting journalists and social media influencers from around Orlando to enjoy the show's debut. Around 70 attended. The event not only involved creating an invite list and managing RSVPs, proper procedures had to be followed to accommodate the crowd, wristband designs had to be approved, amenities ordered and more.
Good Morning America gathered singers, choirs and volunteers from around the country to sing different verses in the "Beauty & the Beast" song "Be Our Guest." The segment ran on their social media accounts, and on ABC News Online, tying into the then-upcoming release of the live action "Beauty & the Beast" film. For my part, I recruited a group of excited girls to sing a few verses of the song, and was in charge of costuming each of them in a Belle dress.
During April 2017's Star Wars Celebration, a multi-day convention centered around all things Star Wars, Good Morning America and anchor Paula Faris held a live broadcast from Disney's Hollywood Studios to kick off their coverage of the convention. For my part, I was tasked with recruiting audience members to participate in the segment. I was also on site to manage any additional needs immediately prior to the live hit.
